A Study on Integrity Testing for Platform-Pile Systems considering Wave Propagation

Platform-pile systems are typically used in bridge foundations and seaport structures. These difficult to analyze using a conventional low-strain integrity test (LST) due periodic oscillations. A staggered-grid finite-difference (SFD) method is proposed for platform-pile system soil verified with ABAQUS measured data. Different impact locations on the top surface of platform lateral pile analyzed, parallel velocities obtained at different locations. Choosing an appropriate location reduces influence oscillation signal; center symmetry best choices. At same energy, should not be outside cross section when occurs achieve meaningful damage signal. When pile, interferences relatively small, vibration signal can detected. The material size hammer determine duration chosen reduce high-frequency influences obtain reasonable data analysis.
